Pushkara Matha Convent Committee since 1993 has been running Day Care Center successfully in the pleasant environment with the support of Central Govt. of India, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, New Delhi. As per directions from the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi. we have converted our ongoing existing Day Care Centre (IPOP) into Old Age Home (Maintenance of Senior Citizens Home) IPSrC, at Anaparthi, East Godavari district, A.P.

Nutritional, Medical support and recreational activities are conducted for beneficiaries and moreover functions such as Diwali, Pongal, Independence Day, Elders day and republic day were celebrated with community participation in our old Age Home

Beneficiaries at home enjoying the benefits of reading newspaper, watching television and group singings.

At this reporting period, the differently abled and senior citizens officer Sri. V. Kama Raju and Revenue divisional officer Sri G. Ganesh Kumar and RRTC have visited the project and given guidance. 

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

The main objective of the Scheme is to improve the quality of life of the Senior Citizens by providing basic amenities like shelter, food, medical care and recreational activities.

PROJECT STRUCTURE

This is a residential project. Here we are providing various services like nutritious supplement, recreation, health care and social stimulation

Staff Structure

Superintendent, Doctor (Part Time), Social Worker, Yoga Thetapist, Nurse, Cook, 3-Multi-tasking staff. Through all the above mentioned staff we are able to run the project in a well reputed way.

 

Nutrition support

We are providing healthy nutritious food. Every morning milk or tea, egg and Breakfast. Every afternoon we are providing lunch and the items in it are rice, vegetable curry, rasam or sambar, and buttermilk and seasonal fruits. During festivals and special days traditional food related to those occasions will be provided. Every day evening we are providing Milk or tea and snacks and night Dinner with easily digestive food to all the beneficiaries.

 

Health care

To all the old people coming to this centre there is a special health care support as there is a visit by a doctor once in a week for regular check-up of the beneficiaries. Free medicines are being distributed to the old on the prescription of the doctor.

 

Re-creational activities

At our Old Age Home there are various recreational activities taking place for the beneficiaries. They play board games like snake and ladder, ludo and group singing etc. During festivals and special days we conduct traditional, classical and Bhajana programmes.   They even watch many television shows. The social worker will make them know the current affairs by reading the newspaper.

Grant in aid from Govt. of India, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, New Delhi.

Conclusion

Hence we are giving our full pledged services to the beneficiaries and we are not charging money. The people receiving our project facilities are leading their happy life in our Old Age Home. All the members are quite satisfied with the facilities of this Old Age Home as it is giving a helping hand to the old in the society
