Pushkara Matha Drug De Addiction Centre (IRCA) is running with the support of Govt. of India, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, New Delhi.

 

The Pushkara Matha Convent Committee Drug De-Addiction Center has been started during the year 2006. And since 2012 it has been running in a good environment at Dowlaiswaram, Rajahmundry. This center has been situated about 2km far to Rajahmundry railway station, the town which is located on the banks of River Godavari.

 

Through our Drug Awareness, Counselling and Assistance Centre we realized the need for a de-addiction treatment cum rehabilitation centre. With assistance from the Govt. of India, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment(MSJE), New Delhi were sanctioned a De-addiction(IRCA) centre on 26th March 2012. This programme is continuing till date. The Centre is 15 bedded rehabilitation centre. Through this centre we campaign and identify the addicted persons and admit them in the de-addiction center. We are providing them a course of treatment comprising detoxification, individual counselling, group therapy, group activity, spouse counselling, family counselling, yoga therapy, recreation and rehabilitation to the needy persons. Since the inception of this centre we provided treatment to addicted persons as inpatients.

Organised Awareness, Sensitisation and Education Camps among the drug addicts / stakeholders in the target area. Conducted regular outreach, identified the drug addicts and referred to the centre for OP and admission. As per the issue, problem the drug Addicts were admitted, prepared case study, provided counselling, detox, treatment, therapy and other support services as per the prescribed minimum standard project guidelines.

The Qualified, Experienced and Trained (by RRTC, TTK, Chennai and NISD, New Delhi.) staff are delivering the services as  per the need of the beneficiary, project objective and rehabilitative’s all the inmates.  Establish the good network & linkages with all the stakeholders for effective delivery of services.  In 2019-20 around 180 addicts got benefited the services.  The project services are very useful to their physical, Social, Psychological, Economical, Health, Legal, Vocational & Occupational rehabilitation.  We are planning to expand the services.
